Home inspections are visual inspections – but with the right tools, 4D Inspections can discover things the naked eye cannot.  We use thermal imaging to discover hidden issues, such as moisture leaks, gaps in insulation, or even electrical hazards that are revealed as temperature anomalies on our specialized cameras.

Most other inspection companies charge an extra fee for thermal imaging, but 4D Inspections includes it in EVERY inspection.

30-40%

of heat loss in a building can be traced to air leaks, insulation deficiencies, or missing sealant

5-15%

of commercial and residential buildings may have undetected moisture issues that could lead to mold growth or structural damage

100%

of all 4D Inspections include thermal imaging services - no extra fees

why include thermal imaging in every inspection?

Inspections are inherently visual, which typically means that the inspection is performed using the naked eye and several specialized instruments.  However, with thermal imaging, we can see what the naked eye cannot see.  And we include this in every inspection (no extra fees!) because we believe our clients deserve a more thorough inspection – part of the 4D Difference.

benefits of thermal imaging

The thermal imaging process

4D Inspections utilizes specialized equipment to measure hidden temperature variations in your home and detect issues in your home that are invisible to the naked eye – included in every inspection

I will use the camera to scan portions of the house, looking for temperature anomalies that may signal an issue

If temperature anomalies are found, I take several pictures with the thermal imaging camera and a normal camera to compare and contrast the differences

I report these discoveries and include a 4D DDID statement in your inspection report – in every inspection

Frequently Asked Questions

Thermal imaging uses infrared cameras to detect temperature differences in the property. This technology helps identify hidden issues like water leaks, insulation gaps, or electrical problems that aren’t visible to the naked eye, providing valuable insights into the home’s condition before purchase.

Most inspection companies charge extra fees for thermal imaging…but 4D Inspections includes thermal imaging in every single inspection – NO EXTRA FEES

Home inspections are inherently visual, but thermal imaging helps us to see what the naked eye cannot see – and uncover issues that could potentially be very costly.

A thermal imaging scan can help identify water leaks, electrical faults, insulation gaps and more, helping you to identify issues that could save you money.

A thermal imaging scan is one of the best non-invasive ways to detect issues that cannot be readily observed by the naked eye, and can detect construction issues, insulation problems, air gaps and other hidden things.
